The Most Interesting Hiking Trails Around Wisła
For many tourists, Wisła is primarily associated with the ski jump and the source of the largest Polish river. Of course, this town has many more attractions, including numerous hiking trails. They are not too difficult, although some are quite long. It's best to start hiking with shorter and easier routes to get your body used to the effort and to test your capabilities. If the short trails pose no difficulty and hiking brings you pleasure, increase the distance and conquer the peaks of the Silesian Beskids.
Trail to the Summit of Soszów Wielki
The blue-marked trail starts next to the railway station and leads through the Jawornik district and the slopes of Soszów Wielki. Near the summit (886 m above sea level) there is a mountain shelter where you can rest and order a meal or a small snack. From the shelter, the trail climbs to the summit, offering a nice panorama of the town, the Stożek massif, and Kiczory. The return is on the red trail that ends at the station. The loop is about 15 km long, and walking time without breaks is about 5 hours.
Trail Through Stożek Wielki to Kiczory
The Kiczory massif is one of the most beautiful viewpoints around Wisła. It is best to start the route at the Wisła Głębce railway station and continue along Turystyczna Street. The trail climbs to the summit of Stożek Wielki. Most tourists rest in the hospitable shelter there. The further route continues following green and red signs to Kyrkawica and the Kiczory massif (990 m above sea level). From there, the shortest descent is via the red trail to the summit of Mraźnica, and then by the blue trail back to the starting point of the trail. The loop is 12 km long, and walking time is 4 hours.
Trail Through Cieńków to Barania Góra
A longer and more demanding trail but with beautiful views. It runs near Biała and Czarna Wisełka, which form the source of the Wisła - the queen of Polish rivers. The yellow trail begins at the Small Dam. The signs lead through the Cieńków massif and connect with the green trail going to the summits of Gawlas and Magurka Wiślańska. It is worth stopping longer here to enjoy the unique panorama. The scenic trail, marked with green and red signs, climbs to Barania Góra, easily recognizable from afar by its observation tower. The shortest descent is the blue trail to Czarne Street in Wisła. The route is 19 km long, and walking time is about 6 hours.
To the Three Wiślańskie Mounds and Gościejów
An easy and pleasant route that tempts with beautiful views and a short distance. The yellow-marked trail starts at Olimpijska Street and goes through the Partecznik district, the Kamienny summit to the Three Wiślańskie Mounds (810 m above sea level). The route continues to Gościejów (818 m above sea level). The return is via the black trail to Wyzwolenia Street. The route is 10 km long, with a walking time of 3 hours and 15 minutes.
