ecoBESKIDY
The fate of the world and humanity is not indifferent to us!
We continuously strive to improve the quality of service for our guests, as demonstrated by the ekoBeskidy project – a development strategy based on actions for climate protection. Issues related to sustainable development and care for the natural environment are treated as priorities. The world we live in is not indifferent to us – we actively counteract excessive use of available resources and their waste. We promote solutions and initiatives related to the protection of the natural environment, and we also aim to raise social awareness of their essential nature. We want to draw our guests’ attention to important issues, thanks to which, together, we will manage to improve the planet's condition. We operate in four key areas that have a real impact on the environment.
We save electric energy
We focus on devices with the highest energy class, and by using LED lighting technology, we reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere.
We will expand the fleet of vehicles with environmentally friendly hybrid engines. We plan to launch charging stations for electric engine vehicles. We strive to ensure that the electricity obtained by DW Beskidy comes from certified renewable sources (RES), and we invest in photovoltaic installations ourselves.
We don't waste water
DW Beskidy achieves water savings, among others, by installing water aerators and using water-saving devices. We enable and encourage the use of drinking water from a dispenser that filters tap water, providing still and sparkling water to reusable containers.
We encourage a more rational exchange of towels. These actions bring real environmental benefits, significantly reduce the risk of potential water wastage, and also contribute to increasing savings year after year.
We reduce waste production
DW Beskidy implements a policy to reduce plastic consumption, carried out by partially eliminating single-use products (e.g. cosmetic dispensers, cups, and drinking straws) in favor of eco-friendly solutions. We also aim to significantly reduce paper usage, which is why our goal is to implement electronic document circulation – we promote economical double-sided printing, limit document duplication in favor of scanning, and replace paper leaflets with electronic information and announcements.
We respect food
At DW Beskidy, we make every effort to significantly reduce food waste – this begins at the stage of planning supplies, as well as through proper storage of products, controlling the rational serving of meals (their quantity and size), and raising awareness of the issue among staff. We rely on the understanding and support of our guests in this regard, as one of the main causes of food waste is taking excessively large portions from the buffet.
Coordinating these actions allows waste reduction by even several percent, but our ambitious goal remains a state of zero waste.
